I am not sure how strategy is used in this. There is no way of telling who is mafia and what have you, so the picks are down to luck?

Well on the first day you don't really have much to go on. But as the game progresses you can see who people voted to lynch, what role the lynched person was, people voting for the same person, etc.

It's not pointless. You have to start somewhere and the only way we can gather information is by pressuring someone into claiming their role and observing how everyone else posts. It's not being helped by people lynching without reason though.

My idea is like I said in chat, voting no lynch doesn't favour mafia technically, so he makes himself appear as unlikely to be mafia and lynch will probably happen anyway, so win win for him

Either way it makes him a target for a hit. Of course if he really is a cop and has blown his cover the Mafia could refrain from taking him out for a few days to hide that they know.

On the other hand pretending to be a cop is probably one of the classic ways to play this game if you are Mafia.

He was one of the guys who voted to lynch CB in Day 1, so I'm thinking maybe he finished the job over night. I'm taking a gamble as it may be TTom, though. Or it could even be a swerve by a no lyncher in order to get rid of Tom or Ada.

If I was mafia why would I kill the person I voted for, and why would I concentrate on one specific person? Surely that would be suspicious... and i'm not that short sighted, on the other hand the mafia could kill someone to try to get whoever voted for them lynched, which it seems you're doing.

I vote to Lynch - socrates because:

Immediately tried to get people to lynch Aidan at the beginning but didn't vote for Aidan himself
Changed his mind to vote no lynch only when it was clear that was what was going to happen
Keeps saying he doesn't know how to play so that people won't suspect him
He voted for me and I know i'm not mafia

I'm pretty sure now that TTom isn't Mafia. It's pretty obvious that Mafia killed off CB to make me and TTom look more suspicious and if any of us really was Mafia then it would be quite a risky and silly move which would get more unwanted attention on us.
That's why I think the real Mafia are actually keeping a very low profile, which is what most beginners of this game do when assigned a "baddie" role.

I'm going to vote deerhaunter99 as a viable lurking suspect in my eyes.

He seems to be pushing this cart along.. Which he's entitled to do.. but he's doing the opposite and bluffing I think.. Yes maybe the quiet are usually the mafia.. but what if he wants us to think that so he's safe from being lynched?
