On yet another brilliant night of fixtures, all teams were battling for points in an entertaining 3 games. There were more thrills, spills, and indeed shocks involved, which is why every game was just so intense. Nobody can complain about the quality of the standard that all games were played at last night. Also, it was the first matchday where livestreams have been introduced. It got everyone excited, and they will certainly prove to be good new additions to the league So, I'm guessing you're all exciting to see what happened. Here we go then...

Cathletico 1-2 NWA

Cathleticos have got off to a satisfactory start so far this season, with NWA hitting the ground running within their first two games. However, three points would be a whole lot for both teams beforehand. Following a short lag test, the game kicked off. Both teams began well, and there was end to end stuff.

But NWA were first to score. On exactly 2:00, mc smiley played a deceiving ball of the wall, evading Cathletico goalkeeper - Cathletico itself, before thor91 was on hand to tap it into an empty net. So, NWA had the early lead, and now they had the wind in their sails.

Instantly after kick off though, Cathletico equalized. Maddude played a great through ball through the NWA defence, through to Blazing, who slotted him easily before Chef, in goal for NWA, could block the attempt. So, it was a fiery start to the game from both teams.

On 2:40, Chef picked up a loose ball. Hoping for a prospect to fire a ball straightforward into the box, he dribbled on, and released the ball. Unfortunately, the ball took a huge deflection off Blazing, sending Cathalio the wrong way, with the ball ending up into the back of the net.

Cathletico tried hard to find an equalizer, and there were some good chances, notably a decent shot from Maddude that was well saved. But then the half time interval arrived, and it was time for a fresh chance - with opc coming on for Blazing. NWA stayed the same though.

Throughout the second half, many chances were created again. There were some good, clear cut opportunities as well. In the final few minutes, Cathletico searched desperately hard for an equalizer, with Cathalio finding himself pushing up into the opposition half in a bid to attack. But, NWA held on well though, for a vital victory, to maintain their 100% record so far in this excellent inaugural Feed Me season.

Disappointment again for Cathletico then, whilst NWA can keep there pride going, with a brilliant 100% record. Let's see if they can keep going.

Leftovers 2-6 Socerettes

A convincing win for the Socerettes on Thursday night, in a game where both teams had a lot of purpose to claim the points. Socerettes took an early lead, when some neat play led to a good touch from Lloyd Banks. He, by now, was in a good position. Then, he made no mistake, and fired in a great finish to put his team one ahead.

socrates was experiencing bad lag problems, so perhaps that was why he, through no fault of his own, completely missed a long ball upfield from Joey. Northam pounced on it, and was consequently on hand to tap the ball into an unguarded, gaping net. Game well and truly on!

Immediately, he was subbed off by DickSplat. Then on, 3:05, there was some confusion in the Leftovers defence. A ball was played upfield by NavJuve, and found its way to Lloyd Banks. He tok a shot, and it deflection several times off himself and Joey. Eventually, Lloyd Banks ended up tapping the ball into an empty net. 2-1.

On 4:02, there was a middle-of-the-pitch scrap, and Socerettes came out on top, retaining possession of the ball. Whilst doing so, the ball fell to DickSplat, who was in acres of space, and slotted the ball home into yet another empty, unguarded net. Half time soon came afterwards.

After half time, it was the Leftovers who got the first say. Some scrappy play in the corner of Socerette's half then led to TTOM being able to slot home. Once again, the game was back on.

On 2:56 though, Socerettes regained a two goal deficit. Some loose play ended up with the ball finding its way to Lloyd Banks. From a tight angle, he slotted past Joey to complete an excellent personal hat trick.

Immediately afterwards, Leftovers searched for a confidence boosting goal. Northam got hold of the ball, but hesitated in releasing it. When he finally did so, it wall blocked, and was a huge deflection, which found its why to DickSplat, again in acres of space, to slot it home.

One final goal came from when NavJuve pumped the ball upfield. Lloyd Banks cleverly played a sneak interchange pass to DickSplat. He was on him to slot it into the net, before the Leftovers defence could find time to get back into place.

So, a satisfying victory for the Socerettes, who are looking to keep rising up the table. For the Leftovers though, unfortunately there's always another matchday to look forward to. Final score Leftovers 2-6 Socerettes.

ARRIBA 0-0 CircleBoy's

A greatly entertaining game, which could be a contender come the end of the season for the game of the season. What is freaky about it, is that no goals were actually scored. But the true excitement was that CircleBoy's were never going to be fancied, going into the game. CircleBoy himself was absent.

So, in goal upon a last minute decision, Aidan agreed that he would play between the sticks. It would take a lot of courage to have gone through what he had to do within the next ten minutes of play...

On 50 seconds, the first of what was to be dozens of chances game for ARRIBA. deerhaunter wrongfooted V-11, and then fired a shot at the goal. DEVINURDOG was there though, to clear off the line. Shortly after, a ball from jonnyynnoj arrived at the feet of deerhaunter, again, he took a shot at the goal. It deflected offV-11, and was goalbound. But CircleBoy's escaped again, with Aidan there to clear away from danger, off the line.

A few seconds later, jonny played a clever through ball to deer, who was right in front of the goal. But his shot was again superbly saved by Aidan. Inevitably, ARRIBA were going to be at CircleBoy's all game. So it was no surprise when the ball then found its way to Ghost, who's shot was excellently palmed away by Aidan in the goal.

CircbelBoys found their way into the opposition half for once. However, this didn't last for long, as a deflection off jonny sent the ball right upfield. It arrived at Aidan, who attempted a wall bounced, but make a mistake. Because the ball landed right at deerhaunter's feel. He tried to catch Aidan off guard, ball the ball went agonizingly wide. Following up was Ghost, who then shot straight at Aidan.

On 3:45, a ball was played to deerhaunter. He wrongfooted DEVIN, and shot, but it was blocked by V-11. From the rebound, he then shot straight at Aidan again.

A great chance came for ARRIBA close to half time. Some neat passing between deerhaunter and Ghost found its way near the goal. When GHOST played an astute, low ball evading Aidan, it was destined to be met by deerhaunter to tap into an empty not. Luckily though, V-11 was there to clear from out of danger. Then Ghost fired straight at Aidan just before half time.

Going into the interval, CircleBoy's were definetely the more pleased of the teams. ARRIBA though, knew they had to improve. So back on both teams went, then.

Midway through the first minute of the second half, the best chance of the game came. Ghost was proving to be forming a good link up with deerhaunter, and this was the case here. Again, the ball was deep into the CircleBoy's half, and Ghost and deerhaunter were switching the ball around. Ghost played a low speed ball beyond Aidan. And the ball was screaming out to go into the back of the net, with deerhaunter right on hand. However, he was ever so close, but failed to make contact with the ball. Another chance going begging then.

Shortly after, deerhaunter shot straight at Aidan again. At around 1:42, V-11 put his foot through a dangerous cross-cum-shot from jonny, which was bound to be heading either goalwards, or towards deerhaunter who would have been on hand to tap into an empty net.

Following up shortly after, was another wasted chance, with deerhaunter fireing goalwards but Aidan again denying him. Soon after, jonny played a through to deerhaunter, who attempted to squeeze the ball in between the CircleBoy's defence, but DEVINURDOG cleared off the line. Then, a dangerous cross from Ghost was deflected off V-11. For a split second, it was heading goalwards, until Aidan was fortunately there again to deny them.

Seconds later, a brilliant, long through ball from jonny found it's way to deerhaunter. Again, Aidan was there to blocked his shot. Then jonny fired a good shot, which deflected off DEVINURDOG, was heading goalwards, until Aidan was there to block it from going in.

Subsequently, from the clearance, DEVINURDOG raced upfield to get the ball. It was the CircleBoy's one and only chance in the game. However, to be quite honest, it was just about impossible for him to turn the ball in. With jonny literally right next to him, the only chance would have been if DEVIN had hit the ball straight away. Credit to him, as he did so, but it was unfortunately the ball that could have happened, and at least it wiped down a few more seconds on the clock for CircleBoys.

Seconds from the end, ARRIBA had another great chance. jonny wriggled his way past DEVINURDOG, but his shot was then blocked by V-11. With seconds remaining, ARRIBA threw all they could at the CircleBoy's defence. jonny's great cross found its way to Ghost, who's shot was brilliantly saved by Aidan yet again. That was the last of ever so many chances in the game.

ARRIBA went back with a lot to dwell and regret on, obviously for the many missed opportunities they had done so well to create, but with no finishing touch. For CircleBoy's though, the result was a great coup, having been not much fancied at all prior to the game. It left the ARRIBA team frustrated, but nevertheless impressed with the tactics they had used. This could go a long way to deciding the outcome of both team's seasons, you never know.

Final Score ARRIBA 0-0 CircleBoys

Right, now let's look at this matchday's reward winners...

Goal of the week: Lloyd Bank's great finish against the Leftovers. It was a sublime effort into the corner of the net, which the keeper had no chance of saving

Player of the week: This week has been the most tough week yet to decide a player of the week. Personally, I think that Lloyd Banks and DickSplat performed brilliantly, to form a formidable partnership. However, I think I would have to give it this time round to Aidan, who kept CircleBoy's in the game vs ARRIBA countless times. He deserves much credit for a wonderful performance between the sticks.

Shock of the week: From the general public's perspective it would be CircleBoy's nabbing a shock 0-0 draw at the hands of ARRIBA. Nobody could have prepared themselves for this result.

Top scorers at present:

deerhaunter: 9 in 4 appearances
V-11: 5 in 3 appearances
Lloyd Banks: 5 in 5 appearances
thor91: 5 in 3 appearances
rising: 4 in 3 appearances
mc smiley: 4 in 3 appearances

So then, it has, as you have read, been a fine matchday this time round. I think it would have been a great advert for the league, and the haxball community as a whole. Some teams got their way, others unfortunately didn't. However, the spirit has always been there, and that was very much the case on this matchday. Thanks for reading then, I hope you thoroughly enjoyed it. Until next time though, goodbye! Smile

The 'thrills and spills' introduction is getting a bit old. Maybe each week start with a new introduction?

Also, in Cathletico match, you didn't put the score at the top.
