Germany scraped their place to the Quarter Finals from Group A despite losing their last two games, both 3-2 against England and Scandinavia respectively, because they beat the Netherlands, again 3-2, in their opening game of the tournament.
In the Quarter Final they played India, who had got through Group C by not playing a game due to forfeits by France & Belgium firstly and then Albania. They won this game 3-1 to seal progress to the Semi Finals, where they overcame an early scare to beat ROTW 4-1 to book their place in Thursday's final.
